About this deal

Command Points for days. Every wizard that Seraphon have access to (and believe me, you’re going to take them) also has a chance to generate CP at the beginning of your turn. What results is you on average having an extra 2-4 CP a turn – which is great, because this army has a tonne of really useful command abilities to choose from. Army Weaknesses Artefact of Power: Godbeast Pendant – The first time the bearer is slain, roll a dice before removing them. On a 1-3 they die. On a 4-6, they do not die, all wounds allocated to them are healed, and any wounds that currently remain to be allocated to them are negated. Ability: Savagery Incarnate – Add 1 to hit rolls made by friendly KOATL’S CLAW SAURUS units that made a charge move this turn.

Command Trait: Old and Grizzled – A FANGS OF SOTEK SAURUS general must have this. If this general is part of your army and on the battlefield at the start of your hero phase, then on a 3+ you receive 1 extra command point. Overall verdict on the Start Collecting Seraphon box Which models are included in the Start Collecting Seraphon Box? Free bonus that’s pretty decent. 3″ doesn’t sound like a lot but with some smart manuevering you can get yourself behind cover and closer to an objective. Command Trait: Dominant Predator – A KOATL’S CLAW SAURUS general must have this. Roll a dice each time this general is used to issue a command to a friendly KOATL’S CLAW SAURUS unit. On a 4+, you receive 1 extra command point.

Army Weaknesses

This is a great-value box set that gives you an immediate collection of fantastic Seraphon miniatures, which you can assemble and use right away in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar! You’ll receive an Oldblood on Carnosaur, a set of eight Saurus Knights, a set of twelve Saurus Warriors and an exclusive Warscroll Battalion rules sheet - Gul’rok’s Starhost - allowing you to collect, assemble and play with your new miniatures right away! The Seraphon currently are in an odd spot: being one of the first armies to receive a battletome, they have really outdated rules subject to change. Saurus Knights Lance sprues, which have lance-wielding arms, the banner-wielding arm, banner accessories (including toppers), shield-carrying arms, wardrums, some club-wielding arms, an alternative head for the Alpha Knight's mount, and some decorations. Priced to move, at only 70 points this is one of the cheapest heroes in the game. It’s not uncommon to take 2 in a Fangs of Sotek list. While not a caster he can on a 3+ grant a nearby unit of Skinks the ability to run and shoot and/or charge in the same turn and a +1 to their saves. He also has a command ability to give them +1 to hit. He makes your skink hordes more deadly so if thats your game plan, bring one or two of these guys. Terradon Chief

Not great even with the free swap. High casting value and you will almost never get caught in a situation where you’re surrounded by tons of Endless Spells you can’t just unbind normally. Use if you gotta but I feel confident in saying you never will. F This is a review of the Start Collecting Seraphon box: the first step towards your dinosaurs riding dinosaur dream. Seraphon are a varied army with mostly 3 types of lizards: the magical Slanns, the more agile Skinks and the bulkier Saurus. This box focuses heavily on the raw strength of the Saurus. If you use the sprues to build a Saurus Oldblood or Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur, you will have leftover bits with which to convert a Skink Hero of some kind. I recommend a Skink Starpriest, as I think he's very useful with the units you will have from Start Collecting: Seraphon. You can also magnetize the Saurus rider to switch between the Saurus Oldblood and Scar-Veteran. I recommend modeling the Saurus rider with armor. EDIT: I prefer the Oldblood between the Sunblood and Oldblood, by virtue of his Aura (so he's potentially useful even when not your general), and I like the utility of his Command Ability. It depends on playstyle. If you want an “objective” answer as of this writing, Starborne have become more popular because of the Fangs of Sotek subfaction. That, however, relies on Skink swarms, and you’ll need a lot of Skinks to do this right. If you’d prefer a list with giant dinosaurs, Coalesced are superior for the Thunder Lizard constellation. You can explore a ton of middle ground here but in terms of competitive options those are your two big choices Contemplations of the Old Ones Coincidentally, you can field a Firelance Starhost with just the models you assembled from the Saurus Knights.

Place the banner arm between the icons and glue in place, the arm wants to be at 90 degrees to the icons. Saurus Knights body sprues, which contain the Saurus bodies, remaining club-wielding arms, Saurus heads, including an additional head with which to indicate the Alpha Knight, and some decorations. Like the artefacts, there are separate command trait tables for each of Slann, Saurus, and Skinks. Each one has 3 options. SlannArcane Might– You can re-roll 1 casting, dispelling, or unbinding roll for this general each hero phase

Great Rememberer – If this general is part of your army and on the battlefield at the start of your hero phase, roll a dice. On a 4+ you receive 1 extra command point As this doesn’t cost a command point you can really set yourself up for something good here. Many armies have at least one subfaction like this and it’s pretty powerful here for all the strong units you can hide. Put a large unit of Saurus Warriors or a Bastiladon in The Sunclaw Starhost lets your Saurus Warriors impersonate Saurus Guard. It's also a required warscroll in the Fangs of Sotek battalion. I think to get the most benefit, you really need 60 Saurus Warriors, so a 40-model unit can be accompanied by two 10-model units. Your Saurus Hero on Foot can fill in for the Saurus Sunblood, but if you really like the Saurus Oldblood like I do, you should look to either kitbashing or assembling a dedicated Sunblood. Maybe buy the bits from someone else who build a Troglodon? Important note to remember, Slaann can switch their memorized spell at the end of their hero phase so ranking them is a little more difficult. Just because a spell has a “lower” grade doesn’t mean it’s useless, just niche. Unlike most armies that’s not a problem because you can just switch to what’s best for that moment. Sorry, for now we are not offering deliveries outside the UK as the delivery charges are astronomical. If there's something you can't find elsewhere, we may be able to do a custom quote for you. Please get in touch.Functions a similar roll to the Starseer, though a little cheaper. He’s better in close combat but try not to get him there. His unique spell lets him inflict a -1 to hit on an enemy unit within 18″ which means he doesnt step on the seer’s toes and in fact they compliment each other very well. Both are worth taking in a Fangs of Sotek list. Skink Oracle on Troglodon
